 Momo VS. Pchome

       In Taiwan, we take PChome and Momo as the two main online shopping platforms.  Last year, the two major e-commerce platforms both maintained double-digit growth and rewritten a record high again, but the difference is that even if the base period is already high, the growth of Momo is still accelerating. The revenue of 67.198 billion yuan is dazzling; in contrast, PChome's growth rate of 12.82% is not bad, but it can only be said to maintain the level of the previous year, with a revenue of 43.87 billion yuan.

    In addition, if the impact of non-online shopping income such as TV shopping is deducted, Momo’s revenue last year also had a spectrum of 61.586 billion yuan, and the annual growth rate was a stronger 35.42%.

     Although in terms of gross profit margin, both platforms have declined slightly compared with the previous year. Among them, PChome's 11.38% is better than Momo’s 9.4%. However, in terms of operating profit ratio, Momo beats PChome's 0.72% by 3.3%, and the profitability of the two platforms both rebounded slightly from 2019. Judging from these two figures, Momo, which has more profitability in product sales, has successfully catalyzed a larger revenue scale. At the same time, Momo’s revenue is significantly larger, so even the operating expenses of the two companies The absolute numbers are not far away, but there is a significant gap in operating profit.

    Online shopping has become an inevitable trend, and competition between many brands and shopping malls will inevitably occur, which will affect the price of goods. In order to stand out among many e-commerce platforms, some online shoppers choose to learn from traditional industry experience and formulate an "online shopping festival" in conjunction with festivals, similar to the traditional department store operators' anniversary, Christmas discount season, and Mother's Day special offers. Various marketing strategies are the incentives to attract consumers. From the above article, we can learn that Momo develops strategies at low prices.
